We describe here nitric oxide dioxygenation (NOD) by the dioxygen manganese porphyrin adducts Mn(Por)(η<sup>2</sup>-O<sub>2</sub>) (Por<sup>2-</sup> = the <i>meso</i>-tetra-phenyl or <i>meso</i>-tetra-<i>p</i>-tolylporphyrinato dianions, TPP<sup>2-</sup> and TTP<sup>2-</sup>).
